Interesting Museums in Bucharest

As a city with rich historical and cultural heritage, Bucharest has a lot of interesting museums. Today I am going to write about three of them, which I think are the most remarkable.
  • The Bucharest History & Art Museum is housed in the old neoclassical building of the Sutu Palace, which is situated on Blvd. I. C. Bratianu 2. The museum features a collection of about 300,000 exhibits, among which there are books, coins, paintings, arms and furniture, engravings, old traditional costumes and maps. The most valuable specimens, though, are a sword set in precious stones, which belonged to Prince Constantin Brancoveanu (1688-1714), and a document certifying the name of Bucharest for the first time.
  • The Museum of the Romanian Peasant is situated on Sos. Kiseleff 3. It was Opened in 1906 and houses the richest folk art collection in Romania. There are more than 90,000 artefacts in the museum, which show the colourful cultural life of the Romanian people. In 1996, it was chosen for European Museum of the Year.
  • The Village Museum is an outdoor museum, founded by royal decree in 1936. Covering about 30 acres, this fascinating museum is the largest of its kind in Europe. It consists of a collection of 50 buildings which represent the design and history of Romania's rural architecture.
Of course, Bucharest has a lot more than these three museums to offer to its visitors. It is a very intriguing destination and Bucharest hotels are some of the best on the Balkan Peninsula. What is more, if you choose to stay in some of the luxury hotels Bucharest, you will have an almost Royal-like experience, as they are very sophisticated and prestigious.
